Francisco, I have just bought Olympus E300 so do not know all advantages and disadvantages of this camera. I bought it mostly because were not happy with Canon Digital Rebel (300D). I got used to taking photos with Olympus cameras (previously had Olympus C-2500L and E-10). The most annoying in Canon 300D was light metereing. Canon has central point = 9%, olympus = 2% (what I prefer). But the worst was how objects are shown that are out of focus (in the back or foreground on photos with shallow DOF) - blured but with edges. Olympus is much better. For me also was important that Olympus records photos in jpg, tiff and RAW, while Canon only jpg and RAW; and of course resolution.
Unfortunatelly Olympus cameras are not good for shots with little light. Surprisingly grainy shots even brand new Olympus E300 that allows to take photos with ISO = 1600 (what for??!!). At evening or with artificial light (as on the photo above) and ISO 200 we can see digital pixels (canon was much better).
Re Nikon D70: my sister has one and does not complain :) Photos are very sharp, colours natual. I read that there are probs with edges but did not see it. I decided on Olympus as is newer and much smaller and lighter than Nikon and because of Zuiko lens (btw, very interesting feature is available for that lens - while taking shots in autofous mode you can manualy adjust it).
