City - Loveland Pass OUT OF BOUNDS, Way out State - COLORADO Country - United States
About
still makes me giggle when i look at it... this was taken at 9:00 AM, before some of the resorts even had skiers on there slopes... the only fresh in the area, loveland pass. eric and myself started this hike at 7:30 AM, got around to the peak and dropped in blind, we decided to play it safe and stay off the cornace cause if it slid we were screwed, no help out this far, no sleds or patrolers, only my freind and myself a GPS, and my father on the phone writing down Coordinates in case!!!! Thanks Pop....but it became the best run ive had in my life, these tracks stayed untouched the entire day, lots of people in the pass this weekend but no one, no one ventured to our tracks, stayed fresh till at least 1:30 PM when we left the area... next weekend im up for doing the same, it was an amazing day and ill have prob about 7 more days worth of uploads from this amazing day with a good freind, any comments suggestions are very welcome, this was a difficult one to shoot too cause of high winds and getting the cam out in very extreme conditions, wind, water, changing lenses all of that typical stuff
kelly, thanks so much for your feedback, you know its funny, i realized after i posted a comment on your falling leaf picture that your season is behind us, or ahead, and that the leaves are just now changing correct??? your winter is our summer, cause our snow season is just about over, wouldnt it be great if i could just follow the snow, be here in the states shooting for the winter and in aussie for its winter and maybe catch some waves inbetween... one thing i truelly miss out here in the the mid west!!!! again, enjoy your camping trip, its going to be a blast and such a good season for you to capture the beautiful landscape there...
PS. i got my print from a place called wolf camera, local shop but is spread out through out the USA, they send the file out to a lab, now its getting sent to georgia in the states, it came out perfect, i framed and matted it tonight, its now 27x40 with a white matt and a quarter inch double matt of black... i love it, above the fireplace, ahhhhh something about filling the home with your own art is humbeling
talk with you soon kelly enjoy the trip, and ill enjoy the photos when you get back phil

wow phil.... i love your shots and hearing about your weekends... but somehow this shot slipped through... ( buga)... it's a blooody beauty... i love how clear and crisp it is.... you always sound like you've had an amazing day... and going by your photos i can see you have... ( i think i have said that to you before, but i really want you to know how your photos come across, you really take us into your life with them...).... it took me a little bit to realise that someone had fallen over, ( too busy looking at the gorgeous white of the snow with the track marks) but when i did see him it reminded me of my first time snow skiing... and i cracked up.... oh how much fun it is....lol... where did you end up getting the photo printed at?..... so glad it all went well for you..... you 'll have to come to the aussie winter now and give our slopes a run..... apprently they are great.... i haven't been for 14 years , heheheh, too many kids now....!... but i really want to go back and have another go at it.... hopefully this will be the year..... keep em coming i love looking at these photoss..... cheers matey kel

Nice shot Phil... again you have caught the snow briliantly. Maybe cropping off the bottom of the image and framing it with more sky would help make it stronger though? Again this is only a minor suggestion though as this image isvery good in its own right as is. Well done and keep it up (but keep it safe!!!)
Thats awesome Phil! I hate backcountry hiking, but when you finally get there it makes it so worthwhile. Good to see your still getting some good snow late in the season, wish i was there.
