About Den and I were timing how long this wheel would take to go round when I was doing this. It's 30 seconds, and luckily enough, with enough filters on I could get 30 seconds out of it!

I think the rod turning the wheel is the most refvealing part of the shot, it's got 4 distinct positions where it'd slowed down if you look.

There's a perpecx sheet infrom t of it, so I've got a reflection on the shot unfortunately... though it is a train so in context :-)

Fabulous work Ade, for me the reflections add to this !! I love the toning in B&W here - great work !!

Look forward to seeing you all at the reservoir in about 4 hours time .... hope the sun keeps shining :-)

Best wishes,
Steve

Cheers Den,

Guess this is a bit of a specialist shot - not for your usual Usefilm spectator! You can see us in it too, bit blurred, but we're there.

The stationary bits are where the rods are movnig at the top and bottom of the circle - the vertical movement there is minimal... just thiking back to physics and the sine curve you get if you follow a dot on the path of a moving wheel.

not sure why there are 4 pauses though.... are there 2 rods?

how's the PC by the way?

think Steve wants some Photoshop tips on layers and masks when we come down!

Wheweee Ade. I've been waiting to see this shot. What a terrifc result. I suppose you can see the four different positions of the connecting rod is because technically it is at those places it is changing direction and theoretically is motionless for a nano second.
