City - Baitngs Reservoir State - WEST YORKSHIRE Country - United Kingdom
About
This is Baitings Reservoir near to Rishworth in the pennines.
I stopped here cause they'd been doing come forestry and there were loads of tree stumps around - wierd to see - but I decided to have a walk to the water's edge.
First thing you notice is the low wate and the contours of the gradually emptying reservoir.
Then I walked a bit further, and got this steel rope in concrete in front of me.
No idea what it could have een used for? made a wierd foreground feature.
Even more strange is tah I didn't see the penny beside ti till i got the photo home. Pretty wierd to see any pennies lying around in Yorkshire..... the tight .......
Ade.... was that a misprint? pennies/pennines? lol! Maybe thats what all the Yorkshire types were fighting for all those years ago... they thought they were going to get pennies if they won the war and got all disheartened when they found all they were going to get was pennines! I suspect the steel rope may be part of a steel reinforcement to help give the concrete greater strength when used in a structural application...
Interesting shot for the layers as the water has receded. A very difficult subject to capture though.... But I think you've done well here.
