Fantastic shot! With these shots, where you have a very low liht spot and a very bright light spot I ussualy take two shots with different exposures. With one shot I measure exposure on the dark part and with secon on the bright part. Then I comopse them in PS and I eliminate the possible efect of overexposure or underexposure of the shot. You are having same problem here... lower part is under exposed, upper part is over exposed which could be easily solved if two shots were taken. Andrej

Effettivamente sembra un'immagine uscita da un'illustrazione della Terra di Mezzo di alan Lee. Veramente suggestiva, complimenti

"Summer Colors" is indeed a beautiful shot. Unfortunately my little A70 (now a newer A510)cannot handle such sophisticated dynamism (nor RAW files of which at present I still know very little). The practical problem is that next to my video camera I am hesitant to carry a heavy photocamera, the real attraction of the small Canon is its miniature body with full manual options. Now I am getting near to buying a Panasonic Lumix FZ5 which seems to combine great potential with a relatively small body. Anyway, thanks for your attention and good words. Best, György

Intriguing shot, I like this "symphony of green" in backlight. Due to the backlit situation, dynamic range is surely wider than the A70 can put into one shot. If you shot RAW, it is possibly worth a try to look at the highlights, they seem to be blown-out partially in this picture, but possibly there is detail in the RAW when converted as underexposed TIF, and then stacked with another TIF in composite technique to overcome the dynamic range limitations. Our eyes are able to adapt quickly, and we can adjust dynamic peaks automatically, other than a camera lens. T see what I mean, you could look at a similar backlit scene of mine http://www.usefilm.com/image/675076.html Regards; Carsten
