About Crystals of vanilla essence in a desert bowl. Used the 105mm Micro Nikor & +1 close-up lens. Lighting was from my desklamp and the rainbow provided by a cd rom.

Such a striking positive image- the textures and colours just beautiful. Never imagined a desert bowl could be anything like this!

Hi Aqeel - The 105 Micro Nikor 2.8 AFD currently sells for 780 pounds (British) (I was lucky - got it as a present)while the close-up lens is farly inexpensive 5-10 pounds. Take care

Good God !! how much does this set-up cost? you don't have to answer it if you can't share this info.

Hi Aqeel - Thanks for the comment. Yes this is the closest I can get with my current set-up (105 micro plus +1 close-up lens). "The Tank" for example was done without the +1 lens and not at full 1:1 magnification. The "Flashing Mantis" was done with the +1 lens, though not as close as this photo. The "furry" stuf in the foreground is vanilla crystals radiating from the centre (to the bottom of the frame) while the tree-like structures is the crystals on the edge (bit more dense). The uneven "sky" is due to irregularities (small bubbles) in the glass of the desert bowl. Kind regards.

Looks really nice. Confuses me though after reading your description. do u mean the furry string is actually crystals of vanilla essense? that must be a real microscopic lense you have used. In some of your previous pictures (e.g. The tank) you have used the same lense but probably with a lesser magnification level. right? Any picture that shows the maximum magnification of your lense?

una grande inventiva per uno scatto particolarissimo. mi attraggono i colori
ma soprattutto la possibilità di vedere nella foto
quello che la fantasia mi suggerisce :)

I have got to say this is one inventive way to combine so many items. I still am not sure exactly what I am seeing but I do know it is pretty cool!
