About The elegance of the poppy is often overlooked these days because of the insidious use to which it can be put.

Before anyone writes to complain, these are growing perfectly legally as part of the Royal Thai Project at Doi Angkhang near the Burmese border.

Thanks, Ken. I'm not actually being over-sentimental about poppies - they can be a blasted nuisance, spreading easily and clogging up domestic gardens - but they do look attractive when they're in bloom.
