About This is the entire Khangchendzonga range , with Mount Khangchendzonga on the right, the 3rd highest peak in the World standing at 28201 (appx) feet. This is during the first few seconds of the days fisrt sunrays falling on the mountain range ( about 4.35 am). At this time the light that reflects off the peaks are very strong, that is why you can see the burned out area in the centre peak, Mt Kabru. This red light stays for only a few seconds.

Thankyou Vinay. Yes, what a fantastic sight. I shot one full roll of slides for the sunrise only. More shots to follow.

I agree with you on the point that the shot is a little bit soft as far as the focusing is concerned. This has mainly happened because I have used a very standard flatbed scanner to scan this. Its an Hp Photosmart 4070 scanner, and there was a lot of dust. I had to remove those dust and the amount of noise that came with its 600 dpi scan. That is the reason its a little bit soft. I will get the slide scanned with one of my friends nikon coolscan scanner and post another shot. The original slide is very sharp. Thanks for your comment.

Very nice shot!!! Great colors and panorama of a fantastic landscape... well captured!!! I like the way you can tell the wind is blowing fiercely up there by the snow blowing off the peaks.... but I would've liked the shot to be a bit more 'crisp'....

i enjoy the morning light on the peaks, really puts my most recent upload to shame in shear size and light quality of the mountains... i sort of enjoy the blurring of the image but would like to make a comparison to a focused one... wonderful job

my fav part, the very high winds that are sweeping massive amounts of snow off to the right hand side of the peaks and catching light
