The lighting was very subdued making for a challenge with all the photos in this series...most of them turned out soft

Thanks George

It's a wonderful shape, for sure. The colors are especially nice.

Best of luck,

Thanks Mary...The SR71 was the US super secret spy plane from the cold war. It is not stealth, I have the F117 to show which is stealth, because it was built in the early '60s pre-stealth. This plane will fly at 2500mph at 100,000 feet and was used primarily to spy on Russia. It has been retired.

Thanks Dave...while on accasion I do smudge or burn a distracting object from a photo..I generally tend to leave them alone

You must have had a great opportunity to see these flying machines and to photograph them - very envious. You took good advantage of this and captures it nicely.

I don't know much about planes. So, I am enjoying your pitures. From this angle it looks sort of stealth-like. Is it in that category?

Nice shot of the '71, Larry! The objects in the background, while a little distracting, also give the shot an authentic feel, as if it's parked in a working hangar.
Dave.

Thanks Steve ..I've beenn to Hill...This is obviously a museum setting so shooting around all the other stuff is difficult...I think I like the setting as is...If you like the Blackbird check this one

Hi Larry....

The blackbird is surely a magnificent aircraft. Had the good fortune to see one up close myself whilst I was in the US a couple of years back at the Hill AFB museum in Utah.

Nice perpective on the photo - although I do think that the items in the bg are a little distracting - maybe gaussian blur them for a shallow DOF effect? - although the 'hangar door' gives a very good effect.

Regards

Steve
