Ughhh...how could you...cans of cat food...my foot!!

My three year old ran into a pole and whacked his forehead and then the back of his head on the cement....poor little thing. He normally has no bruise by the next day...but three days later...he still has a black bruise over half his forehead....it hurt.

Hence the concussion.

Beautiful colors, beautiful composition and beautiful sky. As far as the sharpness goes, I think it's good enough, it goes well with the contrasting background.

Yup...well worth it. The purple is so vivid and the perspective with her against the clouds is just grand. Antonia

Judi,

I don't think the lack of sharpness is so much of a problem here. I think it's more to do with the framing being a bit tight. I wanted to see a bit more of the horse, or to have a bit of eye contact... either rider to viewer, horse to viewer, rider to horse... rider to finishing post, even!

The overall expression of rider and horse lack tension, I think is what I'm trying to say.

Just my honest and humble opinion.

Regards,
Angelo.

Yes Image has very good colors and composition to go with, Sharpness is quite enough and it's not the necessary factor always.

Lack of sharpness??? Er.... where??? I don't normally go for horse pictures (not realy a fan of horses - view them as 150 cans of cat food on the hoof!). I do like this though. Superbly vivid colours and excellent composition. You can really see from the jockey's expression the determination to win. Well exposed with lovely light patterns on the horses coat and the riders silks.
Beautiful shot Judi

PS... how did your youngest end up with concussion!?

It shows the satin texture of the jockey's outfit and the horse's sheen very well. Great expression on the jockey's face.

Beautiful portrait of the horse and jockey, Judi! The exposure is perfect to catch the sheen of both the horse's coat and the light on the jockey's silks.

nice capture, Judi-- very dynamic, there is a tension here of wanting to unleash and run. very vibrant colors and a slightly threatening sky.
