Thanks Margaret! I played around with this image a lot and tried a few different color combinations. You're right though, the coloring may not fit the title. I'll post one I did later today and see what you think :)

Laurie I love what you have done, and it works very well. I really like the colouring, but for me the colouring does not quite fit the title, it is such a good expression of loss - in the petals falling,/ tears falling, head hanging down in sorrow - I maybe would try the flower as a less pretty colour, or have background colour and a grey flower. Now I am rambling, I guess that is because the image touched me - and I was trying to express that - without any critcism of the image . Will attach a quick colour change I did,

Thanks Linda! I played around with this one a lot. I have a few different versions--one with just the petals on the table in color, another one with only the flower in color, and of course this one.
It's funny, my husband said almost the exact same thing that you did--the flower is crying.

Beautiful Laurie...I like the title as well and when I look back at the image, it's as if the petals are tears falling. There's a lot of emotional stuff on here this morning..Having only the color in the petals is rather striking as well...Lovely image, beautifully presented....:) Linda

Another beautiful result, I love the selective colouring and excessive grain in this one. The line between dark and light in the background is a litte harsh compared to the other elements of the image but it's position ensures it does not distract too much.
