About Many people from diverse backgrounds participated in the Chicago Memorial Day Parade. This soldier, driving by high on her tank, deserves the "By Far The Most Spectator Head Turns" award :-)

Picture details: Aperture: f5.6, shutter: 1/160s, focal length: 210mm, no flash, no tripod.

Camera was on "Continuous Servo Auto Focus AF-C" during this series, but I am not happy with the focus results. Not exactly clear to me what caused the loss in sharpness. Maybe the lens was too slow in focusing?

Thank you for your thoughtful comments, Urs.

The parade was a joyful experience as everyone was smiling, greeting, and waving. But I agree with you that I did have mixed feelings when I look at this picture at home. This young, attractive and tiny lady on one side and the tank she was riding on on the other just did not fit together.

Thank you again for looking and commenting.

Hi Jürgen

This is a really good, touching picture! It makes me think.

Maybe it's not in, not modern because it's idealistic to say that people without arms and uniforms are much more attractive than soliders even in the most glorious, conquering uniforms ...

Especially this young, attractive and tiny lady gives me a sad feeling, when I think of the destroying tank she drives. Your picture is an excellent demonstration of interaction: Construction, destruction ...

Thank you for showing us this excellent shot!

An excellent shot. Bearing in mind the fact that the subject was moving at the time, it could have been improved if she was in slightly sharper focus and the traffic light wasn't in the background, or at least wasn't quite so bright.

Cheers,

Jon
