About	'Post-Industrial Black Country Scene' For those who don't know England very well, the Black Country is the once heavily industrial area built largely on the South Staffordshire coal seam to the west of Birmingham. 'The Black Country' is usually said to have got its name from being 'black by day and red by night' - black from the smoke from industry and red from the furnace fires that burnt day and night. Thanks for your comment, Jose. I think the water may actually be a 'lake' made on the site of a former quarry but I don't quite know this particular part of the Black Country well enough to absolutely sure.
