I just love the feel of this image! I think conversion to black and white was the way to go here! I like the vignetting in this image and the tones as well! I am wondering how it appeared in color, simply to know that the above statement was correct! :)

Hi Paul, tourist photo or not it is very appealing. I saw this yesterday in the comments page and thought this must be an old one :) I didn't realise this was a new one from you. Here we are havinh very nice weather at the moment so i find it nice to see a shot from winter :) nice and refreshing. Great work. Thnaks also for your comments on my water shots. I always like doing them and to me each ine is different, even though they may all look similar - Have a nice weekend.

Thanks for your posting Stefan.... basically, this is close to the image before the toning I applied.. I guess I went a bit darker for two reasons.. there was so much snow that brightness was already there..and I wanted to create a subtle framing of the church and center of the image. But, I like both versions...thanks again

Working from your post... The attached image might be the general look I would tend to go for: a little brighter, a little higher contrast. The choice you made reminds me a little of the style of Mary Bell who used to hang here at UF.

What I like the most is the contrast of the fresh, clean white snow tones with the sky tones (in color, this could look dull or sad; I think B&W is a good choice). Nice composition leading the eyes into the scene.

Thanks for the comment.. I just slightly toned the edges to bring more focus to the center of the image..I definitely debated if I should or not because I liked it with and without the toning..

Wonderfull white image. The main subject all coverd under the snow, it is a wonderfull sight. The coverd trees under the snow is wonderfull too. Although i don;t really like the 'black' parts of the photo in the corners. Maybe you used a flashlight? But on the other hand, the black parts are to far away for a flashlight and the dark sky looks nice too. It is a bit of a dillemma, i don;t know if i like it or not. But i do really like the coverd church! Overall still wonderfull work, ass always!
