Annie,

Watch your sharpening, it appears to be ovesharpened a bit and the effect you did exaggerates it. Otherwise, a really nice photo and concept.

Yes, that was my aim... but I wasn't so sure about the darkness etc.

so here a version which is more extrem than the other one....

i really like the light on the left side. ther right side doesn't seem to work so well for me. i guess it's because the eye seems to be out of place in this over exposure. BUT, i guess that's kind of what you were after if you wanted to show the 'two sides'. i just think that a bit darker would work better.
