I personally love the shadow ;) I like that it almost appears as if he's been in a street fight, lol. I tossed up actually putting some stage makeup on him, but went against it.

Classic shot! Good B&W tones and details and excellent composition. The one thing that gives me hesitation is the shadow over his left eye that makes it look like he has a shiner. Then again, maybe that adds to the charm...!
