Thanks Sally - this shot was taken with my little Cybershot as were my shots prior to about 3-4 weeks ago. Finally got a new camera - Digital Rebel XT (EOS 350D) and am learning how to use it. Haven't gotten to fiddling around too much yet, but am slowly exploring new areas. I really like florals and landscapes (but you have so really get out of the house to do landscapes). I do know that I want to get a macro lens and after looking at your IR photos - looks like I will need something more than a basic UV filter. Just not enough hours in the day! You might want to consider taking your IR shots with different sizes of aperatures. That glow in both your shots were really happy accidents - in my opinion they really added a special touch to the shots. Look forward to seeing more - and learning how to do myself. Jan

I like your composition on this one, and the colours.
I've looked at a few of your photos, and this is one of my favourites!
Does your camera allow you to control the depth of field? I think some of your flower photos would look even better with less depth of field - that way your attention would be drawn straight to the flower and not distracted by the background (as it would be pleasantly blurred).
I'm glad you like my infrared photo - that was one of the first pictures I'd taken with my new filter, and I've since learned that the yellow hotspot in the middle is caused by having too small an apperture - so I'm hoping it won't be there next time!

Now what a great idea! Thanks for opening my eyes to a different view of the flower, this is fantastic! And thanks for your sweet comment.

Really neat shot!!! Not just an 'average/normal' flower shot... ;-D!! Beautiful colors (love the shiny green), nice crop, great angle and composition... well done!!!
