Dear Melanie,
Honesty I prefer "clear" pictures, I mean no PS, no filters, but when I saw your picture, I was a little bit curious...
I made this small experiment, and it looks fine to me, and I decide to upload it!
I love to make this little chats with other photographers, I love to exchange the opinions!
Cheers,
Igor

Hi Igor,

Yeah I really like your version, it is more expressive, I have a similiar version but I thought I would post the more realistic one, ie the one that really came out of my camera, but as i said this version is very powerful!

Thanks,
Mel

Hey Melanie!
Very good picture! I love dusks / dawns!
This one is the best - from my point of view!
Goood!
Cheers,
Igor
P.S.: Would you consider a small "game" with PS, like this! More dramatic?!
No hard feelings, Igor

This one :)

I love shots like this, the way that trees become shaped by nature and prevailing winds, beautiful :)

Definitely the colour version! (But to be honest, I prefer even more the colour version you posted previously...)

HI Petal,

I really like your version too but I kept all that black chunk hoping I could keep balance between the sky and the land - I will keep your suggestion in mind though as it looks quite good like that aswell...

Thanks a lot for your comment
Mel

Wonderful shot!!! Super silhouettes, beautiful colors and good composition.... well captured!!! I prefer this one, as it looks 'warmer'.... But how about a little cropping... the large black foreground is a bit much IMHO.... had a go at it, hope you don't mind... ;-D!!

Well, if you have Photoshop, you really should explore using the Channel Mixer, instead of just doing a straight-on conversion. You'll have greater control over tones that way.

I do like this in colour better. It has great composition. Thankyou so much Melanie for your wonderful comment on my images.

Excellent photo. Lovely colours and shapes, especially the strange shape of the smaller tree in the distance. If trees were flamingos...

I really prefer this one, the colors really add life to the scene, the desaturated one is nice also, just personal preference....

same here I only started recently, say six months, I always liked freezing time, and recently I got my hands on a Fuji S5000 which I must admit, gives me superb colours in pictures - i am falling in love with her...Also recently started on Usefilm and I'm getting loads of great tips and ideas from here!
