Hi Marian. Thanks for our comment.
Re trying to keep up; it is so difficult--miss a day or two and friends and associates have posted tons of wonderful pictures. I rarely have time to look at any in the general postings now, so I am sure I'm missing a lot of great ones. Anyway, one thing that speeds things up for me is opening my browser twice. I use Internet Explorer. I open it, go to UF, then open another IE and go to UF. While my comment on one is transfering, I can look at and write a comment on another picture in the other browser. So, I am not waiting. It's a 2 or 1 thing in terms of time. Also, if one of mine has posted a lot, I don't, can't comment on them all. Does that help any?
Mary

Excellent idea, well carried out. You might want to know that the Hebrew name for the flower you captured is Amnon & Tamar, Amnon for the darker onses, Tamar for the brighter names, both after King David's children.
Thank you, deat Mary, for your very kind comments on my "Semi tanden", my "Tandem" and my "Tandem II."
Best regards,
Rafi

Mary,

Well seen and interpreted. Beautiful colours and presentation. Too bad about the noise, but I'm going to try Neat Image on it and post the results.

Angelo, you go right ahead and make all the suggestions you have. I appreciate every one of them. I noticed the pixelation but didn't think to reduce the size to compensate. Or, probably more truthfully, didn't know that was a solution. Thanks, now I know.
Mary (learning little bits and pieces as I go along)

Mary Brown   {K:71879} 7/11/2005
Toni, I appreciate your comment and suggestion. On another look I can definately see what you mean--especially from thumbnail to large size. I was going for some softness, but do agree that particularly the large size becomes softer than desirable. Sometimes uploading alters images somewhat from the original on one's monitor. Thanks for getting me to take a closer look as it is something for me to watch for in future posts.

Very artistic, Mary. The soft focus, to me, really adds to the effect you were seeking. The butterfly really stands out in this frame because of it. Nicely done.

I can definitely see the butterfly shape.

If you allow me a sugestion, uploading this in a smaller image dimension may have compensated for the noise and pixelation visible in the image.

It does not totally spoil the picture, but is enough of a distraction, Mary.

Very creative Mary. I think the softness of the pansie draws your eye directly to the inner focal point, which is the "butterfly". Very lovely.

Antonia BauerleinSehnert   {K:30599} 7/11/2005
This flower is absolutely scrumptious in color and detail from the thumbnail, but something happened to the sharpness when it went to full scale. Is the extremely soft focus intentional? The greater clarity as viewed from afar (i.e., the thumbnail) would be my preference here.
