Inside the Mezquita in Cordoba is a kind of chapel with a huge gold crown in the middle and other gold artifacts (all protected behind glass) and four lifesize statues of Saints. This is one of them. Same difficult light conditions as the other shots from the Mezquita. Was taken handheld!
This is wonderful, Marion! I love the background formed by the detail in the ceiling and the way it's faded out - not taking any attention from the statue! These Spanish statues of saints are so detailed and realistic - and dramatic! There are many of these in Guatemala, too, from the colonial days. Very nice interpretation!
Hi Marion, good toning and a very effective angle. The bass reliefs in the ceiling over the statue add a very nice touch; at first I thought they were colouds, but the vague recognition does place it in a different setting, which makes it intriguing.
