Interesting, good lighting. Skin tones are very good. On the criticism side, the head looks suspended in the air, almost like it was amputated. One can see a part of right sholder, but not the left, so there is no simmetry, but maybe you did it intentionally. Darkening around the head looks artificial. Sorry for so many negative comments, it is a nice photo, my only intention is to express my "wish list" to make it a more interesting picture.

Interesting idea to use the diagonal format Julie! Makes it very effective and eye catching (not that you aren't eye catching anyway!). Love the lighting on your face and the expression is excellent! That Chris Spracklen is really cheeky!! Still chuckling at his comment!

Well done,

Alastair

Hey Julie,

You are lucky to have such a beautiful model to work with. I hope you don?t mind, but I did play with PS a bit. Also don?t be mad but I accidentally tore the corner of this photo. I was to ignorant regarding PS to repair it. (lol)

Keep up the great work my friend.

My Best,

Jr. Martin

I like this Julie, and think it could have been stronger cropped as a square image.

brandy bailey   {K:3509} 7/22/2005
this is georgeous. I would like it cropped much tighter however.

Don't tell me, you'd spotted a cobweb you'd missed at the spring clean?!
You had a pain in the neck and this position brought a little relief?
Am I getting close?
Only kidding!! )
Once again, I have to say that you make for a beautiful shot, Julie!!
Best regards, Chris

You managed to give yourself a very dreamy look, dear Julie. The oblique composition strenthens this feeling.
Thank you for your very kind comment on my "Memories from Paris 23" and "Explosion in B&W."
Best regards,
Rafi

Imageopolis Featured Photo Critique This is very nice Julie. You did well with the background. I really like the softness around it.
Next time try using some soft lighting in PS with it and see what you think. It brightens things up sometimes. Keep working at it . Practice makes perfect.

Julie, I realkly like the idea behind this one, and you have a very beautiful subject :-). I might have preferred it if you had created the effect 'naturally' - i.e. with lighting and adjustment of exposure. That said, it is a very attractive photo.

No idea just playing about in ps, I wanted it to look like I was just floating lol
Cheers Julie

Klifton K.   {K:3386} 7/19/2005
You're welcome!

What was the drive behind having the black gradient below your neck line straight across? Selective lighting? :)

I love the skin tones, and the pose... it kinda makes you look like your head is floating though. Was that the intention or was there another reason? Just curious! I'm not in any place to critique, but I like to know why people do stuff. hehe

Thanks!
