hello bob
what i thinks as one grows he sees more of world. travelling is in everyones blood and so the art of knowing is natural and developing his own individual knowledge not through others but out of his own experience. listening is and thinking is not same, thinking can be through imitation and can be imitated. one can find patterns in it if one moves in close up he can see textures laid. but with poetry one has to move in utterdarkness and what one see and says is out of spontaneous response with awareness. and more over japan is not far from india delhi. but what japanese has found and indians have found and now even americans are finding too. so i say dont be archeologist diging out his whereabouts simply enjoy the statement as it is said. this is dirty to know ones past because what is the use of carrying dead past. it happened in the life of basho. when he was about to die he sat in the lotous posture and thier were few people present their wondering about the mans behaviour. and he shouted "look directly what is this" and calmly died. this is a great lesson from the dying man look directly what is this. dont include memory ur past nothing just see without bringing past in. i have tried it is difficult to do. but trying.

Interesting title and image. The title sounds like it could be from Japanese poetry.
