I not only like the almost silhouette, and the colors, but the composition that places it balaced against the leaves on the left, leaving empty the middle third. Very nice.

Judi, you are my favorite critic and friend:) You always have a knack of picking things up that everyone else fails to mention and this keeps me working hard and honest. I usually do a curve adjustment in all 4 areas (Individual RGB channels and final Master adjustment)I didn't do it in this particular photo and you are the only one that picked it up.Thank you for you honesty and for keeping me working hard at being a better photographer. You do not know how much it means to me.
I'm sorry for my lack of comments lately but I have been Job hunting and trying to get things in order . I have a great job interview in Panama (which is where I want to retire with my wife) and have been devoting most of my attention to those efforts. I will return to commenting more and hopefully posting more pictures as soon as I can:)

Nice one, James. The background is beautiful. Great silhouette fo the bird. Don't they look great in silhouette, with those big beaks in such prominence?
I have a couple of hummers in silhouette in my portfolio, but nothing as nice as this!

wildlife isn't my forte James, but I like looking at it...so good that you can picture something like this, and then manage to capture it...perfect colours and composition...truly a beautiful shot.
