About I'd imagine that this scene would have looked about the same 50 years ago. This foundry was built in 1907 and would have shown significant aging by the 50's. There are a couple of things that give it away as a current shot.

This does remind me of an old shot, I do believe that this shot could have been taken 50 years ago or more. Now the cell phone towers and the satellite dishes wouldn't have been there. But hey if you really wanted to make this shot look old you would clone out the towers and the satellite dishes and go with a faded sepia tone. The black and white looks good too, don't get me wrong! :)

Well seen and captured, Mark! Your use of b/w gives it a period look, as well.
Thanks for your comments, too!
Dave.

very nice composition of the old foundry, Mark. The B & W does make it look like an old picture. Good work! Larry

Good work Mark. Yes it can be mistaken for the '50's.

Good b&w Mark.
With all that glass it must have been a very hot place to work in the summer.
Open door adds a lot of interest, and seems to contribute to the overall deserted feel.

Great composition and use of the light and shadows. You're right, cover parts and it could be 50 years ago. Good seeing.

Excellent picture in Black and White... Love the tones and contrast... The perspective is beatiful and love how the shadows look... Love the old building... Well done my dear friend...

Mark,

Nice choice, the B&W. This is a very nice composition. The perspective and long shadows are great elements. I can see what you mean about the modern give-aways. The satellite dishes/tower and the MacDonald's wrappers are out of place for 50 years ago. ;^)

Nice perspective. I think this works well as a B&W picture. I'd guess the satellite dishes and microwave towers probably weren't there 50 years ago. :-) Nothing a little Photoshop work won't fix.
