Hi Alison, Indeed, NY is full of opportunities for photography. I have not been fortunate enough to stay longer than a few days at a time, and I find there's so much I've been missing. This is a very cool shot, on the humorous side, as the subject isn't your classic male beauty. I'd like it also cropped just at the horizon line, taking out the greenery and the sky. Thank you also for your comments, Ina

I really like the symmetry in this composition, and the way it tells the story of this gentleman and his enthusiasm for biking! Nice hot and hazy feeling to the shot, too.

Lovely summer shot, dear Alison. Well composed in shining colors. I also liked the "about" Rachel and I used to ride our simple bicycles until several years ago, when Rachel had an ugly fall. Now we both go to fitness execises. As a student I used to criss-cross Switzerland on my bicycle, up the mountain pass in 4 hours. down in 30 minutes. Thank you for sharing the emergency notification. I fowrded it to our son, Ronen, a senior paramedic. Thank you for your very kind comments on my "Backlight", "Composition in light" and "Convolution." I look forward to your version of the latter. Best regards, Rafi

Hi Alison,
Love the story behind your pic... Great that you captured the man in this tranquil moment... The peaceful scene contrating with the colorful shirt and the bicycle creates a very versatile atmosphere... Taking him in the back, makes one wonder what is he thinking? what might his expression is? Is he enjoying the beautiful sight? Is he wondering about his life? Are there regrets? WOW!!! I can continue questioning... :)
Well done my dear friend... Excellent composition... A story in itself... It does not need words... Speaks by itself...
Cheers,
MaLuisa

Beautifully done Alison, I like that you captured him from behind ..I think it allows us an unsuspecting peek into a quiet moment and allows him his freedom and privacy...I notice how colorful his shirt and bicycle are..contrasted with the tranquil atmosphere of this place he's chosen to stop and rest...perhaps a moment of serious reflection without and disturbing surroundings...I would imagine a move like that to be stressful at that young age, and after 25 years of being in one place...I'm sure he enjoyed you stopping and talking to him...well seen and captured...:):)Linda

It pays to stay active. The shirt and the bicycle provide some really nice colors. Beautiful pastel color of the water too.

Wonderful story Alison. Its so interesting to talk to people like him. Also encouraging to the rest of us that at 75 he is still able to get out and about and enjoy his cycling.
Lovely image - the sysmmetry works so well and catching him with his back to the camera really is effective in helping the shot feel intimate - sharing his view with him and enjoying a common appreciation of a moment.
Super shot Alison.
