Hi John, thanks very much. Sorry about the tardy reply... I sometimes use a 1.4x for wildlife that isn't moving, but it slows down the focus too much for birds on the wing. This image occupied about 50% of the frame... the 300/4 really doesn't have long enough reach for most birds. I don't shoot from a hide... (prolly would if I could find a suitable location). Many of my shots are taken where the local wildlife is somewhat tolerant of people.

Care to share some of your technique Bob?
Do you use a multiplyer between the lens & the camera?
Are these full frame of crops?
Do you shoot from a hide?
