Petal -
(what a gorgeous name!)
Impressive saturation and bright colors - really explosive. Really interesting macro and good compositional structure -
I think the JPEG is a little "chunky" from a lower quality, or the depth of field was perhaps a little shallow - sort of a little blurry.
The blur is good for more of an abstraction, but after looking this over I wanted to see all those little pollen kernals...

Lovely, dear Petal and in my favorites. Actually, that's what I wanted to add re the ring-flash. You don't really need one if you use any other light source behind your semi-transparent objects. I, in my ripe age, after making sure there are no scorpions or snakes around (LOL) sometimes still lie on my back to put the sun beyond a flower.

Really funky colors by just using a lamp....i like the feeling of anarchy...like a LSD-Disco 1975...are you sure no other chemicals are involved ?
