About This is the biggest spider I've ever seen. Yes, that is a house fly (a small one).

Hey Todd,

WOW!!!! You weren't kidding when you talked about these HUGE spiders!! The house fly really helps give a sense of the size of this monster. Must have been impressive to see. Never seen anything like this around here. Good work!!

Ivo,

I believe he ordered lamb after that.

Mary,

This is called a Yellow Garden Spider. It has a venom for killing its prey, but it is harmless to humans. Still, I would imagine it would leave a nasty welt.

Thanks, Marcus! I said a little prayer for the fly, but I didn't hold out much hope. ;^)

Superb picture, Todd! Excellent colour and detail.
This fly must be like a small canape before the main course arrives.

Those yellow marks on his back must be from the saddle he had on prior to this shot. One scary dude!

Oh my, this is a big spider. You have captured great detail, Todd. He looks actually sort of pretty, but I don't want him as a pet.

Nice shot. Good detail and a sense of suspense with the prey in the shot as well. I just found a similar spider and posted a shot a couple days ago. Since then I've found another. Funny, I'd never noticed them before this year.
