Wow, excellent shot, Larry. I love the patterns and ripples in the water. The bow of the craft looks like it is cutting the water like scissors. I saw a scene like this years ago in Melbourne when the rowing club was on the river training, and I've always regretted not having the camera with me. Well caught. Cheers, Ann.

Great shot of the canoe cutting through the calm water, Larry! You've really caught the idea of it slicing th water. Great colour, too!
Dave.

Beautiful Larry, love the color and stillness of the water, and the triangular shape of the movement of the water, making for a very interesting composition...beautiful capture...:):)Linda

Hi Larry.
Great work.
The symetry of this image lends itself very well to being centered. I also like the freeze action of the wave, which gives it great definition.
Well done.
Regards,
George.

Beautifully composed, like the angle & how the the canoer breaks the stillness of the water. Only comment is the inscription in the lower right hand frame (Just My Opinon) otherwise a fantastic shot Larry, kind regards.

As I told Lea the blue/green field adds to the composition...thanks again George

Good shot, Larry. The sharpness--shape and quality--of the boat and the wake make it exceptional. The horizontal format and central placement are unconventional and all the more effective because of it.

Regards,
--George

I like the sense of space in this picture which is filled with this beautiful colour of the water. the shutter speed did help get the water movement frozen in frame and the centralising of the character / action in the centre of the frame works well here because you can feel that he is tearing the frame into half with the canoe/ kayak. Excellent capture.

Lea Mulqueen   {K:7396} 8/20/2005
A nice image. That shutter speed worked well to capture the flow of the water.
One question...you have a vertical subject...why did you use a horizontal composition? I think it would have been better composed vertically with a bit of space between the back of the boat and the edge.
Still, I like it...I don't usually like subjects centered, but with this, it works very well!
