I am surprised it turned out. There are a lot of branches in the foreground blurring the view. He was deep in the woods.

He is quite neat, Todd! I like how his head is framed by the foreground leaves. Lighting works well.

Thanks, Mike! Guess you don't have too many of these in New Zealand. These woodpeckers can grow to 17" in length. They make holes in trees the size of your foot. I'll post more pics of these birds. The females are similar, but with less red on the head.
