About Close your eyes and pretend the fence, the road, and the truck is not there. Can't you just see what the settlers saw and traveled as they moved across this part of Arizona? Scary!

The 'interrupted' skies are, Janice ~ by trees, etc. ~ the more difficult it is to do a convincing sky replacement. So this particular shot would make for a very tricky job!!
Best regards, Chris

Have you messed around much with the burn tool? Sometimes that can really help. Especially if you lower the opacity so it isn't so drastic a change. Either that or make a b/g layer copy and lower the opacity of the burn on that. Just a suggestion. So many ways to play!

Nope, you are right Susie sort-of! It is A LOT bright in the middle and didn't know how to "fix" it. I fiddled with the saturation for while and just didn't like the results. Made the foreground too dark. Gave up and left it like this so that I didn't loose the foreground. One day I will figure iut jpw tp dp ot.

Hey - I just thought of something...could you fix my sky in this one? This was taken about 2:30 p.m. on a very hot, hazy day. You can probably tell I was in the shade to take this, and the contrast between the shady trees and the sky and mountains in the distance was drastic. Didn't have a clue on what to do to "fix" the sky or what to put my camera settings on. The sky was, at that particular time of day looking out in that particular direction, very washed out and the sun was beating down. Something about that high desert dry heat...What attracted me most about the composition tho, was the vast difference between the lovely shade and the without mercy desert sunlight. Shade and the illusion of coolness will always win out in this area. Bet the settlers would have liked stopping awhile in that restaurant's hidden garden.Jan

Nice natural framing Jan. Seems a little bright in the middle...maybe just me? Nice capture.
