About Early Evening (not morning - U2 got it wrong), April 4th / shots ring out in the Memphis sky / Free at last -they took your life / But they could not take your pride...
Pride (in the Name of Love) by U2.

Martin Luther King Jr. stands on the balcony of the Lorraine Motel with a small group of friends and aids, in front of his room - room 306 - as he's fatally shot in the neck. The greatest Civil Rights Leader America's ever had is assassinated in the Spring of 1968. Riots erupt in almost all of America's major cities. People were beyond angry. Almost 2 months later to the day Senator Robert F. Kennedy (younger brother of John) was Assassinated in Los Angeles at the Ambassador Hotel (now closed) as he ran for the Presidency. He probably would have won the election in 1968 and cooled down an angry and divided America - instead America got Richard Nixon and the Vietnam war escalated. Over the next few decades assassination by bullets slowly went out of fashion and by the time the 90's came around "Character Assassination" became much more popular. It was used often.

Dear Mark,
as I understand more of the USA politics after this strong and truthfull movie, I am with you all the way, and supporting you my friend.
And I will make a concept of my own to try to wake up American People :):)
I have read your message! very powerful !!

So today America doesnot have so much assassinations but something else!!
We really need some PROJECT against the War and for a better USA :)
Be well and take care!
Together we are much more stronger!
Kisses,
Biliana

Yes, these days character assassination is used regularly for anyone who dares speak contrary about Dear Leader.

I have to agree with CB about the scarey part - the assasination without the bullet is far from bloody...it's all on the inside...K
