Thanks, Irenka... in summer we'd get about 2½ months where the sun didn't set and of course the opposite was true in winter. Lots of northern lights there, but very pale mostly (too close to the magnetic north pole there...)

Wow, a superb scene! Very interesting and well composed. I guess it's so light at 4 AM, since it's the arctic summer - or something close?
Do you get to see the Polar lights there?

well Tim, I highly recommend a trip to the Arctic!! With you're superb photo and painting skills I would imagine you'd get a couple years worth of material to keep you busy!!

Oh Man I always wanted to go here.....i am sure it will be soon as these photos are so inspiring....hey looks like you guys are using feathercraft kayaks....where in B.C. do you live? I am on Hornby Island for the winters these days but traveling most of the summer....heading to Banff right now.
