About A young puff adder (Bitis arietans). Ocurring over all Africa except in true desert and very high mountains. Venom is sytotoxic - this species is responsible for at least 60% of the serious snake bite incidents in Southern Africa although it is rarely fatal. Taken in faint, filtered sunlight, fill in with ringflash.

A clasic shot. Nice detail and patterns. Lots of impact with the threatening subject...

Very abstract looking image, nicely done. I think I would have been using a somewhat longer lens on this one, just from my personal safety point of view ;)

Vriendelijke groet,
Riny

I?m amazed of how you not being scared of it. I would never try, i think! I didn?t even think of enough sharpness. For me photography are not about sharpness.... there?s so much more important subects then that! I can see how the snake are looking at you with a piercing gaze!

Hi Jeanette - thanks for the commnet. No it was NOT sleeping and was VERY agressive. My friend had trouble to calm it down and keep it from striking at the camera - please forgive the slight lack of sharpness! Regards.
