Yes not the traditional eye but such imperfections very gnarly. My town is famous for its poorly recorded music. We love it for its flaws. This says someone made a big effort who was not so well resourced. Love that sort of stuff...
perhaps the locals don't. For every single fine buddha statue at a cross roads there are three in a cave nearby?

Thanks again. In both, the eyes of the larger Buddha are rather disturbing, I think - not quite in the traditional style.
