Rob thanks for taking a look at my portfolio and this image. As for the inclusion of the breaking wave it took some patience to get the right moment captured. I'm glad to see it's being received so well.

Gabriela the sky is slightly yellow and it is displayed as it actually was. I don't mind having the sky included. The extreme lighting at sunset has its strengths and weaknesses. I think the layering of color against the cliffs outways the negative of the sky. I've tried to minimize it, but wanted to include a little to relay some sense of location and scale in the scene.

Keith thanks for your comment. It would definitely look good with blue hues as well. This was the natural coloring. Perhaps sometime in the future I'll work on a blue version just to see how it looks.

This is a "killer" shot"! Beautiful! But something should be done about the white sky, doesn't it disturb you? Gabriela

Jim, thanks for being first to comment on my first post. This is quite a picture. I love the layered effect from the salt spray through the rocks but what impresses me most is the way you have caught the energy of the wave breaking against the dark backgorund.

It is an extraordinary conjunction of location, weather, and point of view... The sky is very hot and I think you'd do better to crop it out. There is some high contrast here as well and plenty of jpeg artifacts that could be easily fixed with a less conservative compression setting.

Credits all over the place Jim and rightfully so because this is one of the most tremendous pieces I have admired in days that you are most definitely proud of indeed ... Right? But of course ... and why not!
Traveling with my eyes through the vertical plane there are numerous criss-crossings of rock structures to delight any viewer's pleasure and especially with that one big wave as a great additional treat breaking in the distance.
Not one flaw WHATSOEVER except for a very slight horizon tilt easily corrected but has to be forgiven because of the power this image conveys that you alone have captured!
ABSOLUTELY splendid and a 'Keeper' for sure!
Thanks for sharing and entertaining my visual senses. The Very Best of Regards to you!
