Lucky you ! Great catch. True about the ISO vs noise issue. But since the bee is sharply in focus, I don't see the problem here with the DOF. Maybe with the flower over and beyond, since part of it is sharp and part not.

I understand - its where an image stabalized lens (or a monopod) comes in useful (if you are lucky enough to have it :-)). Of course the bee would also get motion blur sooner or later, so a tough choice. Possibly a higher ISO (800) and apperture (F/16) would solve this dilemma. I have found that a bit extra noise is better than blur where you don't want it. Noise can always be cleaned up after, but blur can't be...

Thanks, Bryan. It's not easy without tripod to get sharp pictures AND good dof. And I just don't want to carry this damn tripod all the time with me;)
