About I took this shot well over a year ago. I've always sort of liked it but never bothered to post. Since I havent been out shooting for a few weeks with the weather and short evenings, I decided to tackle it this evening while test driving my recently aquired CS2. I was surprised at how much detail I dragged out of the sky considering it was shot on jpeg - its not too bad looking, maybe a tad soft. I really like the lines in this image and they are accentuated with the barrel distortion caused by the 12-24 lens. I used varying degrees of channel mixer and curve layers. A slight bit of blue was added at the end. This is a crop of the original. Constructive comments welcome.

I'm surprised ya never uploaded this before, it's great, the rocks work well in B+W, someone mentioned they look almost like wood and i agree! Good mood in this shot and the sky is great!

This is a great shot. B/W is too under used these days. I was in Ireland 3 years ago and miss her dearly.

This picture does become much more dramatic in black and white than it is in color. Very nice work Shane. Don.

the foreground rocks have an almost driftwood feel to them, the elements all add up for a perfect black and white shot. Excellent.

I've got nothing but praises for this photograph, the conversion to grayscale (B&W) completely changed the perspective in comparison & the high contrast adds to a dramatic & moody landscape. Excellent work Shane, cheers.

Heres the original - looking at the post compated to this I think the b&w is maybe a little bit over-sharpened.
