About It was snowing as we climbed higher on this rugged mountain trail. But as we ascended higher, the sky chose to break just enough to let some of the dramatic light through.

I don't mind the misty waterfall look, but I don't think the romantic look would have been right for this rugged landscape. B/W is a good choice too.

Looks cold wet and miserable, but exhilarating at the same time.

Very rugged, indeed, Tim! I like the texture and perspective you've got here! This is the first I can remember you using b/w, and very effectively. I like you're waterfall treatment, as I prefer the realistic look, as well.
Dave.

Great perspective Tim and I like the monochrome. You wern't with Hillary on the summit of Everest in 1953 were you? Regards John

Pardon me while I fall off my seat! B&W??!!

Lovely light. Wish it had touched upon the waterfall. B&W captures the dark rocks very well.

I have to say i am not a fan of the misty water technique, It is more romantic in feel then i like....but everyone is different.

Very dramatic image in B&W. I would have loved to have seen a slow shutter speed on that water but then I'm a sucker for misty water shots. Just the thought of climbing that in snow makes me feel cold and tired. :) Glad you went to the effort though. Great image. Cheers - Ann :)

It's been raining all day so i thought i would go with the somber tones of the moment...lol

Nice tones and perspective, Tim. I had to do a double-take when I saw your name on the thumbnail, but didn't see the trademark vibrant colors :-)

B/W does this image well. Congrats!

Best regards,
Bob
