Excellent colours in this beautiful landscape Rob.
No photographer should leave home without their polariser! The difference these gems can make to colours always astounds me. Very best wishes my friend...Ray

A BIG thank-you for all your visits to my place, I do so appreciate this.

beautiful sky and mountains, along with the soft appearance in the foreground. Very nice.

You always get people writing you essays lately, when all I get is 'nice', 'good' etc hahaha. Its great that people are giving you so much feedback. Not sure Graham is correct about the camera shake though. I'll throw in the suggestion that you still have issues with losing detail when you resize. Are you sharpening after you reduce? Its always the very last action I do.

I am glad Graham is giving you stick for not listing your settings, I always look for them when I am commenting.

This is very pretty Robbie, love the blue. xx

I must love camera shake this is great. I will say I have no idea what Graham was saying but I aim to find out. The only thing I would have to say is you can use the perspective tool and just slightly "pull" the top edges to straighten the trees. Other then that into my favs.

I really like the composition you have shosen here Rob. I like the logs in the foreground and the trees framing the mountains in the distance. I don't know about other people's methods and techniques but I personally like to develop my composition skills then the technical side of things such as exposure, white balance and focus points will fall into place with practice. I think you have done a great job with this one. I like the sky and the clouds add a nice interest. Keep up the good work Rob. I enjoy your images.

Cheers - Ann :)

Again, Rob, no camera settings provided so it is hard to critique accurately.

That said, the image is actually suffering from camera shake - hence all the comments about 'soft' trees. They're not soft, they're slightly blurred. You either need a lighter camera or a heavier tripod, lol.

Are you using a timer or remote release?

Also, based on the last 6 or so images you posted, it seems your camera's white balance is off and probably needs to be accurately set as there is a definite cobalt/dioxanine cast on the images (clearly visible in the distant shadows).

The image is beautifuly composed and because of the extreme contrasts between the tree shadows and the left hand sky, (about 15 stops) it is a lose-lose situation as to what the 'correct' exposure was. Either way, it is not possible to capture both in a single shot (you would need two exposures and then blend them in PS).

In this case, I think I would have scarificed some cloud detail and gained more on the foreground, i.e. MORE exposure (a full stop I would say).

Still, it is yet another stunning scene and I envy you being so close to such magnificance.

HMMMMMMMMM. What are my thoughts???

Well, Let see.

From the Top to the Bottom.

I Love the Sky, The Blues are Really rich. The cloud formations are fantastic.
I really like the Shadow Play on the Ground. I don't see and softness in the Trees.
I think it may have that look due to the side lighting.
I think it is presented very well. You can still see the details in the peaks in the Background.

I Love that Park almost as much as the Garden Of the Gods.
You did a GREAT job My Brother.
Congrats and thanks for sharing.
Your brother.

Great landscape with spectacular sky and rich colours (thanks to the polarizer!). The trees seems a bit soft though. Nonetheless a great image. Good work.
