Hi Sam,
I'd love some composition pointers on how to crop when you can't fit an entire landmark in the frame. I usually shoot way too many images of different parts of a building and I don't like any of them when I'm done. They all look like snapshots, like a person with a hand or foot cropped off.
If you want to share some wisdom, I'd love to listen.

neat effects, I like the glow of the lights, I'm not sure about the angle though, I'd either like it straight or a more exaggerated angle.
cheers, nicole

Hi Tracy welcome to usefilm. I like the interesting coloring you used on this. I think Sam has made some good points but I find the only thing I would change is the horizon line. Use the free transform tool and give this a bit of a spin and then crop again. Welcome on board.

Hi Sam, Thanks for your feedback. I'm not offended in any way, this is why I'm on this site...to learn! Thanks for the pointers on composition and yes I have only started to use PS in the last couple of months. I have bought the PS one on one book but won't get to work through it till I'm on holidays in a few weeks. OK if I contact you with any PS questions? Thanks again.

Hi Tracy,
First off....Thank you so very much for your comment on my image today. It really appreciate it very much! If there is anything you want to learn I would be more then happy to help you out.
I have been to Paris 100's of times while I was stationed in Belgium. I really like being in Downtown, By the Arc De-Triumph and the Eiffel tower. along with the Louvre.
On this shot.....It looks like you did a lot of needed Ps work to the Arc to remove the scaffolding. Are you learning PS? I could give you some pointers if you would like them?
With a Shot Like this of the Arc...Remember the rule of thirds....ie. Position the Arc on the right 1/3rd of the shot. Make sure the Arc horizon line is right....Meaning, that it doesn't tilt to one side or the other. Composition is half the battle. Remember....When shooting a landmark...ie making the arc the subject...be sure to get the entire Arc in the shot...Now conversly...if the subject was the sculptures on the Arc....the its ok. I can teach you how to work flow a shot... I hope that I haven't offended you in any way...just trying to give an honest opinion. Kind Regards
