hi steve , well thanks for the ideas, i tend to keep them in a frame , kind of keeps the attention on the photo when viewing. you say postcard however the originals always get edited in raw conversion and would probably fill up a large canvas piece. furthermore often the end result seen on here has been degraded by the JPEG compression, i.e taking an image from nearly 50mb to 360k has a large impact on the final outcome. however i understand from a webmasters or site owner view that it is essential to keep the bandwidth usage to an affordable or realistic cost. perhaps you can give some idea what size framing i could experiment with.
regards brian

As beautiful as this shot is, and it is beautiful, I would be tempted to tone down the red in the eye until it's just a hint. I would dearly love to wean you off the size of the print in your frames. Your photos are so good, and the large print makes them feel a bit like postcards.

Love the silky smooth tones and the ps work. I like the way the dogs head is facing, nice!

I am surprised you had no comments on this one Brian. very unusual angle and the softness and selective colourising (the redness in the eye) were good choices for this image. Like it loads, 7+
