About Here are the star fisherwomen with their big catches!
As you can see, my neice in the top photo loves to cast and catch them, but hates to touch them.
My neice in the bottom photo is scared to death of bugs, but fish don't bother her one little bit! :)
I have a version in color that I liked too...I'll post it below..I just wanted to end the series with the same type of shot and I'm not crazy about the green water in the color image.

Oh, P.S. that is my brother in the background (their grandpa) who taught them both everything they know! :)

A nice finish to the series Susie. Both versions are cute, but I think I like the black and white a little better.

Good luck with the cafe. I'm sure that we will be in soon, especially if you are serving those great big cinnamon rolls of yours. :) Yum!

Yahya, you are observant. You're the only person who noticed that! I was just playing around with the images when I had the collage on a landscape presentation. (I like my collage images to all draw to the center) I forgot to flip them back when making the portrait presentation collage and didn't realize until after the upload. Oh well, it shows me what a good eye you have! :)
Thanks for all of your great comments.

Hehe! I've seen both and I prefer the b&w one. The warm tones are great and the definition is perfect (as usual). Nice composition of this two photos. Many thanks for your comments!
Best regards!

Amazing captures (no pun intended!) Susie! I love the B & W much better, good choice! The vertical composition is also a very good idea, it looks like a sequence in a film, with something to follow, although I know this is the grand finale of the series, and since the fish are thrown back in the water, there isn't going to be a decorated plate shot :) Love both girls expressions, a reluctant one and a triumphant one! Priceless! Best of luck with the cafe opening to you and Kathy!

Hi Chris,
I believe they are rainbow trout. One thing I forgot to mention in the about is that we always do catch and release. They are only out of the water long enough for a photo op! :) Every once in a while we get a "floater", but not very often. Take care and thanks for your great comments. I always appreciate them.

What kind of fish are they, Susie? Any ideas?
Trout? Wide-mouthed bass? Piranhas? )
Whatever they are, the girls did well ~ and so did you!
Best regards, Chris

Hi Susie! Very beautiful capture I like both versions! I think the BW is classical and more expressive besides you have a way to pull out characteristics and expression from most in my comparison on UF. Yours pup out most.
Cheers :)

Wonderful tones Susie, and well put together, the clarity is excellent, so cute that they are holding onto those fish, I remember when I use to fish as a kid, I'd bait the hook but no way did I touch the fish, big chicken, what brave little girls, and adorable too..nice work!!

Pat Snelling Weiner   {K:1920} 11/28/2005
Never thought I would like b&w but in this case I do, as it doesn't take away from her expression. I need to remember that in my ptgs, that sometimes color gets in the way. Great shots! Pat

Hi Susie,
Better was probably the wrong word to use in this case. I should have said different. These two are of the invaluable snap-shot variety, where the others in the series seemed to me anyway more like photo art. Just like comparing apples and oranges. Not better or worse :)
I started catch and release when I realized how much keeping the fish was upsetting my youngest son when he was about 10 years old. He hated to see even the fish suffer. So, I started letting them all go.

A fitting end to the series Susie and best in the mono toned version. Well done to both the girls who look pretty pleased with their efforts.

Can't remember the dates but I'll say again, very best wishes to yours and Kathy's Grand Opening; it cannot be very far off now....Ray

Very likeable the difference of the expression of the ace, one nearly scared and the other happy and proud.
Very good the B&W, I prefer this to that one to colors.

DEFINITELY catch and release Andre. My brother stocks the pond every now and then and the many kids in our family have such fun fishing. I agree that the other photos were better...I just wanted to cap it off. :)

Ha ha! I'm still like your neice! Will fish - no problem at all- but can't bear to touch once I reel'em in :)) Nice work Susie. It's been a lovely series and I too prefer the B&W as it completes the set.

Also, thanks so much for all your wonderful comments and advice this year. Both you and Kathy have helped enormously. I'll pop in every now and then to see what you guys have been up to. Will be travelling back and forth from NZ to Aussie, so not sure if I'll have time to upload anything myself. But I'll be buggered if I'll miss too many of my daily UF fixes!!! :))

Take care!

Ann Nida Ann Nida   {K:45248} 11/28/2005
I see the colour version just fine and it's very nice but I do prefer the B&W in this case which is unusual for me because I usually always prefer colour. Maybe my preference is to remain in keeping with the series as a set. This has great tones. Anyway this is beautiful Susie. Full of character and lovely natural faces. They are so happy with their catches and rightly so. They are big fishes for little girls. Great catches all round for you and the girls.

I want to wish you and Kathy great success with your new Cafe business venture and hope it goes well for you. As I told Kathy, if I'm in the area I'll drop in for a cuppa.

Cheers - Ann :)

A nice way to end the series Susie!

I think some of the others in the series are better photos overall. But that's not the point. You had to finish it like this :)
Nice little trout too! did they cook them too? Or do you catch and release?
I was brought up eating most of what we caught, but for the past ten years or so, I've been using hooks with no barbs on them and releasing everything.

The color version is showing up, but I sure do like this one! Very cute and good tones, Sissy! Without seeing the color one I think that this fits in better with your mini series...good choice!
