Hi Hilton, Thanks for your comment and glad you like my lion capture, which I'm actually very proud of. My 1st visit to ZA started in Cape Town (+ surroundings). During that stay I went to Kruger NP as well. The 2nd visit started in JHB, then to Soweto, Pilgrim's Rest, Blyde R. C., Balule, Kruger NP, Hazyview, Swaziland, Hluhluwe, Umdloti, Durban, Drakensberg (Golden Gate), Ladybrand, Graaf -Reinet, Karoo, Cape Town, Cape of Good Hope, Robben Island. Then 2 times in Namibia. Will look at your portfolio later...I'm sure I will see many, many beautiful pics, now that I know where you're coming from. Thanks for your visit and see "you" soon. Regards, Mireille

The colors in this image are very beautiful and in a lovely harmony. The depth of field also flatters the beast. Your shooting angle uses the light colored background to highlight the lion's mane, which is a nice aspect of this shot. I might suggest trying a tighter crop on the lion's face for more of a portrait, though what you have here shows a nice context of the surroundings. I like the branch in top left of the frame, which provides a textural relief. Nice work.

Hi Ann, Thanks for your lovely comment. If you want to see the 2nd one, have a look at "The pose 16". Unfortunately, I didn't get a close up of the two as our car was very badly positioned. Actually there were 4 cars at the spot when we arrived...

Another brilliant shot Mirielle. You never disappoint with your fantastic photos. I too am wondering where the other king is. As long as he's not behind you while you are shooting this one. Your portfolio is truly outstanding. Yes this one is into my faves too. :)
Cheers - Ann :)

Very Nice portrait of the King. He has a bit of a sad look in his eyes. Is that because of the unseen one? How I would love to see this in person someday!
Thanks again for comments on my image.
All the Best - Bill
