About: I have been involved in photography since I was a teenager. Photography has been a huge part of my life. My first real job was in the camera department of a large upscale store - Burdines, in S. Fla. I worked on Christmas Eve in 1967 and I was chewed out for trying to sway customers away from the sale on the Polaroid print and buy an SLR. The supervisor later appologized when he saw my receipts for the night. I sold $12,000 of camera equipment that evening, much of it was Yashica SLRs and rangefinders.

My first SLR was a Petri FT-LE . Later, I went over to Minolta. Over the years I have owned three Minolta cameras and had four or five Vivitar lenses.

Althought I have had no formal photography training, I was selected to be the official photographer for two of the USAF units that I was assigned to during my 21 years in the USAF.

I met my wife in a camera store while buying film for a fishing trip.

In 1998 I bought my first Nikon. It was a N70. Shortly after that I bought a telephoto-zoom and my daughter helped me get a great deal on a Nikkor 60mm Macro.

When I saw my first roll of film from the Nikon, I kicked myself for not buying a Nikon back in the 60s. What a great camera Nikon makes!

Got a Nikon D100 for Christmas 2003. What an awsome camera.

I have become a part time professional photographer. I do weddings, special occasions and in-home portraiture. My wife Susan is my assistant and "artistic advisor."

BTW, I am a full time Captain, paramedic/firefighter for the city of Hampton, VA.
