Thanks for sharing your pictures of the GOP convention zone, I really enjoyed looking at them. Hopefully things will stay relatively calm even for G.B.'s arrival.
Unlike yourself, I purposely avoided the area as much as I could although I did have dinner at a diner just across the street from the post office. I shot 2 rolls of mostly "touristy" photos so there won't be any images of the "convention". It's going to take a while before I can scan them, my computer broke before I left for NYC and I haven't had a chance to put it back together yet.

I haven't seen so many police in my life. Mind you I have never felt so safe in NY. The streets around Madison Square Garden are a mess. It seemed to take forever to get to B&H from the Empire State building.

I always thought that the miniaturization of electronics would make video cams smaller but they seem to be in a state of permanent super sizing. This thing looks like it belongs underwater with a scuba diver.

The presence of the shark's mouth at the bottom adds a comical touch. Is that a caricature of Bush?

The lag time is definitely a detriment for capturing the decisive moment. All the same, the colors are electric in this shot.
I wonder if I will bump into you while I'm in NYC. I will be lugging a small blue Lowe Pro waist pack with my Nikon N65 and probably perspiring profusely in the humidity.

Excellent shot and unique as well.
It has the look of those old 20's or 30's Hollywood glamor shots applied to a cat no less. The softness really helps to accentuate the blue in the eyes.
This has got to be one of my alltime favorite cat pics.

Stunning colors.
I think it looks better with that dark patch in the upper left corner cropped out.

I like the effect that the grain imparts to the image. It makes the sky appear alive, gives me the urge to rub my fingers against the image to feel the texture.
Excellent.

Cool critter, but I'm wondering if the DOF is too shallow and if the focus has missed the mark according to conventional wisdom about having sharp eyes.

Beautiful tones. I think the element that makes this really work is the slightly out of focus bulb in the middle, it gives the image depth and dimension. The darkness on the right works as well to provide a counterpoint to the brighter tones in the flowers. Nicely done.

The quintessential Hancock image. The articulated cat, for me it looks best with the top cropped off so that the white line on the top part of the vertical blinds doesn't show. Guess that crop appeals to my graphical sensibilities. Sublime.

How appropriate to look at this image again after recent events. Many are attempting to mythologize him while others see him in reverence through the lens of old memories that tend to lose the harshness of bitter realities. Was this man simply a facade for conversative right wing ideals or was there more to him? Certainly a thought provoking image.

It's great to see your work again after missing it on PC. I have always found something strangely attractive about nightscapes in industrial parks. Perhaps it is the sense of isolation, even mystery about these places that are abandoned at night. A far different feeling than one gets when walking in one's neighborhood at night. Or perhaps it's the sensation of being utterly alone, something that appeals to the longer in me. This image captures that feeling for me.
