Hi Larry! I'm happy you like it! :-) It was really easy to do the colouring in photoshop. I had the original photo that is in colour. Then I duplicated the layer and made the top layer black & white. After that I just used erasure on the string part only (on the black & white layer) so the coloured layer under was seen. That's it.

Interesting capture with all the people sitting out when it's cold! I am not 100% sure but I think we have a law in Sweden that restaurants etc are not allowed to have outdoors serving winter time.

What a beautiful photo! I really love how it feels so cold and empty, but then the sunlight falls down on the abandonned boat and new hope is given.

The light is great, although I miss the details in the fire... But it looks great how the hot steam goes up on his hand.

It's very nice, and interesting! My first feeling was that I found it a bit strange with focus only on girl and not the dogs. But after I read your interesting text around it I realise that actually it makes it more original! And I guess it's never wrong to be original when it's about photography! :-)

What a super shot, Jim! So professional with main focus on dogs and the smoothness on the rest, and really the perfect timing! Wow... look at that snow around their running legs, just swishing around! And I love the snow flakes too! A lot to love in this fantastic photo!
Do they have shoes by the way? Haha... I have never seen a dog with shoes... But my workmate said today that she can't go out with her dogs because the snow is to cold and they freeze in the snow. Maybe I can suggest dog shoes... ;-)

Very sweet capture, Jim! Cute children, and so nice mood with their happiness and the snow! And lovely colours!
We have extremely cold in Sweden now! I don't know in Fahrenheit but if you know celcius it's -20 degrees! And snow everywhere. I hate it... haha. But my 4 year old son is jumping in the cold snow like a madman... Laughing, rolling, throwing snow at me etc. When I see that, it melts all cold for me! And somewhere deep inside I envy that feeling that children have, when everything in life is always exciting.
Have to run to work now, but I come back!
