Lighting was medium wattage tungsten with white balance set to outdoor color temp. Adds a bit of warmth with this combo.

Antonella:

Those are very kind words and I appreciate your Christmas wishes. Unfortunately, my wife passed away just three weeks ago and the holidays will not seem the same even with a strangers thoughtfulness such as yours. However let me return the kindness by wishing you and your family a warm and peaceful holiday season.

Congrats on "donor photo of the day". B & W is a great choice here, forcing the viewer to closely examine the textures and tones. Very nice.

Graet to see you finally posting some images Dave. I like this one quite a bit. Very creative as are all of your montages.

Thanks for the recent comments everyone. To Daniel Taylor: this was a fairly extreme crop which I believe is related to the heavy grain. I have also found that many of my images that contain fog seem rather soft.

I like it Howard. Quite a vision to get from the original to this finished version. It's a great effect on a well composed shot.

Beautiful. Everything in its place. Exposure is very dramatic.

You can't look at this without smiling. You've captured such heartwarming emotion in their pose. Nice composition (although maybe a little tight on right of frame) and the lighting is quite good too. I like all of your portraiture work, keep posting.

Well done Peter, the colors and reflection are emotionally satisfying. I think the horizon in the middle of the frame works well in this circumstance.

I missed this one when it was first posted. I like it a lot. It's a great scene for your choice of IR. A rather ethereal feel to it. The road looks vaguely familiar, is this shot at Addison Oaks?

Excellent! I'm way past three seconds. Lighting adds a nice dramatic mood to these two captivating expressions.

Intirguing model, interesting environment, great lighting and nice toning (as with most of your work). As I move around the frame however, the soft focus (on my monitor anyhow) of her right thigh and skirt keeps drawing my eye.

Very nicely exposed to great effect Paul. I wonder if pulling the baby's breath might not strengthen the composition. The merger of them into the upper left corner of the frame is the slightest bit distracting.

Pleasing composition. The super-black background really makes the forsythia jump. Post some more of these IR shots, I find them intriguing.

Nicely done Howard. This IR work sure sounds much simpler for you digital users. I'd really like to see some more of this from you. This one is nicely composed however I wonder if it could be enhanced by using some closer foreground element

I like everything about it. The pose of the woman, the color in the saris and the great context in which you've found them.

I much prefer this composition to Ice Storm #2. I like the contrast of white ice on blue sky. Most of the trees as lovely as this in my area, are on the ground after this storm.

Chris, the color this exposure brings out is great. I think waiting for the ripples on the lake was a good idea, it dramatizes the color there. If I were to suggest anything, it may be to crop more off the top and bring more attention to that bank of fog rolling in (or out) that is overwheled by all that blue sky.

Pretty cool Robert. Detail is incredible and the composition nicely arranged. I wish these were older looking locks, they would fit better with the rusting chain and the aging wrought iron to give the whole thing a more antique feel.

Like it a lot Cheryl. This was well seen. I agree with Vicki that it may be just slightly top heavy and perhaps a tad underexposed for my taste, but the mood is still quite dramatic as is.

Titia, I like the feeling this shot evokes. I thought at first that the fence post was not well placed, but the longer I look at it the better I thougt it fit. Creates a certain tension that adds to the mood. Nice to see some B&W from you.

It seems redundant to add to this lengthy thread, but I can't let this go without saying how much I like it also. Super saturation and great color combination.

I think this is great. I can't find anything wrong with it. So much detail it almost looks like medium format. Going into my favorites.
