Thanks John for your comment. I also take closeup photos of bark as well. Happy hunting this spring.

Yes, I also love gums for their diversity of interesting gum patterns and colours, especially as they are coming into spring and are shedding their 'coat' for the regrowth.
Nice shot, Ann.
Cheers

Thanks Dave. They say one should take photos of what you know - as a musician a have sat in orchestras for years looking at all the instruments around me. I think it paid off with this photo. Thanks for your comment and congrats as featured donor

Thanks Cathy,
Yes it was taken outside. I took a whole series at a concert of close ups looking at the detail of the instruments. This is the best by far. It is good to talk to you cheers

Perfect focus and depth of field. I like the diagonal composition, it fits the subject really well. The lighting is spot on, it's an outside shot if you read the scene you have managed to include. Clever girl! The part I like best is the u-shaped bit that holds the entire story in a rich golden sheen. This constantly draws my eye. Nice work. CC

I love the feel of bare gum trees after the bark has all fallen off. They are so fresh and new. They are definately at their best when the sun is close to the horison.
Do you have paints? What medium are you going to use-oils?
I am just having a little chuckle at the thought of you two, in your little house, talking to each other on the net. Trev sends his best. CC

Thanks Angela. My other half suggested the crop. I have this idea of taking photos of light through venitians at different times of the day with different rotations of the venetians and I had just been discussing a photographer friend who has a project that he is working on called "unmade beds", He had showed us his collection of images so far - it was really interesting.
Cheers

Beautifully balanced image with wonderful soothing light.
The long format suits the photo well too. Is this a crop or a panorama style lens?
Another great image Ann.
