I hope you like the Tamron 11-18mm as much as I do! It is hardly ever off my camera... I was a little concerned at the colour aberration around the edges, but my new D300 gets rid of most of this inside the camera. I am enjoying your portfolio, but have little time to comment today. Later, perhaps!

Yeah, having an ultra wide lens can be really handy at times, Marco. My main suggestion is to keep the center of the lens on the horizon line if you want the shot to look 'natural'. You can get some very strong distortion by tilting up or down, which can be very cool.

My only critique of this shot is that the horizon isn't level, but I realize you were just playing around. ;)

Oh, then it was even better than I thought! I thought that the "dump" looking air around the lizard was because of the glass, but it was due to your adjustments, I guess. Perhaps a subtle overexposure that made that look this way!

Cheers!

hi nick, thanks for your really nice comment. No, there was no glass in front of this. The distance between me and the lizard was one meter or so. So i didn't have to use a very long lense to capture it this way.

What a good luck to have it posing this way, Marco! The light and the chosen focus that concentrates on its head added some kind of "prehistoric" atmosphere. I think that the colors on the background enhance that very strongly. The details on its head/face are very good too - they built up a real "personality" the way it seems to be starring at something.

BTW, was that though glass?

Cheers!

Nick

nice picture,

could use some more contrast, however the lack of contrast gives the picture something of his own

Nice perspective on these mushrooms Marco ....I love wild mushrooms to just photograph them as I am not professional enough to know which ones are alright to eat .. This is a fine image of wild mushrooms with very good light and angles..

Best wishes,
Michele~
